For Sale is a New Old Stock Space Shuttle Challenger Lapel Hat Pin. This pin, model number STS-51L, debuted on January 28, 1986.

This pin has the names of the Astronauts around the edge of the pin: McNair, Onizuka, Resnik, Scones, Smith, McAuliffe and Jarvis.

Challenger is launching from Florida to carry out a variety of goals, including observation of Halley’s Comet. An “apple” represents the first teacher in space. At 1:13 into the mission, Challenger exploded, tragically killing all on board.
