Mentre la milizia era più associata all'ordine pubblico e
alla sicurezza urbana, la polizia era più coinvolta in attività
di sicurezza politica a livello nazionale. Tuttavia, queste distinzioni
potevano variare nel corso degli anni e a seconda delle specifiche
circostanze politiche e storiche.
Il maggiore ha ricevuto 6 medaglie: una rara medaglia per aver salvato una persona dall'annegamento, una nella ricorrenza dei 20 anni dalla guerra di liberazione, una per la ricorrenza dei 50 anni della Milizia e tre per anzianità di servizio
Dall'incisione al retro dei bottoni si desume l'anno della loro fabbricazione, 1977 in quadrando con buona approssimazione l'epoca.
