Esposito was a center who played for the Chicago Blackhawks, Boston Bruins, and New York Rangers during his NHL career. He also played internationally for Team Canada. After retiring as a player, he was also head coach and general manager of the Rangers before co-founding the Tampa Bay Lightning. During his long and illustrious career, he was a 5x Art Ross Trophy winner, 2x Hart Memorial Trophy winner, 2x Lester B. Pearson Award winner, Lester Patrick Trophy winner, and a 2x Stanley Cup champion. He was a 10x All-Star and is among the all-time NHL leaders in goals scored, assists, and total points. He also has held several NHL records, and in 1998, he was ranked number 18 on The Hockey News' list of the 100 Greatest Hockey Players. He is the older brother of fellow Hall of Fame inductee Tony.
At age 15, Jagr was playing at the highest level of competition in Czechoslovakia for HC Kladno and he hasn't stopped playing. He was the 5th overall pick in the 1990 NHL Entry Draft selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins where he became a team fixture. In the NHL he also played for the Washington Capitals, New York Rangers, Philadelphia Flyers, Dallas Stars, Boston Bruins, New Jersey Devils, Florida Panthers, and Calgary Flames. He has played in the KHL, EHL, and plays for Rytíři Kladno in the 2nd Czech league (and is currently an owner of the team). He has also represented his native Czechoslovakia and Czech Republic extensively in international competition, and is an Olympic gold medal winner. He is a 5x Art Ross Trophy winner, Hart Memorial Trophy winner, 3x Lester B. Pearson Award winner, and a Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy winner. He was a member of the 1991 NHL All-Rookie Team, a 13x All-Star, and a 2x Stanley Cup champion (which are just his NHL awards and honors). He holds several NHL records and Penguins' team records. On the all-time lists, Jagr's name appears in the top 10 of many categories. He is currently 2nd in NHL career regular season points and is 5th in career playoff points. For the regular season he is 3rd in goals, 5th in assists, 3rd in games played, 1st in overtime goals, and 1st in game-winning goals. For the playoffs, he is 5th in points, 11th in goals, and 9th in assists.
Lafleur played right wing and was the 1st overall pick in the 1971 NHL draft selected by the Montreal Canadiens. He also played for the New York Rangers and Quebec Nordiques, and internationally for Canada. During his 17-year career, he won 3 Art Ross Trophies, 2 Hart Memorial Trophies, 3 Lester B. Pearson Awards, and 1 Conn Smythe Trophy in addition to 5 Stanley Cups. He is the all-time leading scorer in Canadiens history, has scored 500 goals and 1000 points in his career, was named one of the '100 Greatest NHL Players' in history, and is a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame.
Sittler played center and was the 8th overall pick in the 1970 NHL Draft selected by the Toronto Maple Leafs with whom he would spend most of his career. He also played for the Philadelphia Flyers and Detroit Red Wings, and represented Canada in international competition. Playing in over 1000 games and scoring over 1000 points, he was a 4x NHL All Star and is a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame. On February 7, 1976, Sittler set the NHL record for most points in one game with 10 (6 goals and 4 assists), which still stands today.
Yzerman was a center drafted 4th overall in 1983 by the Detroit Red Wings. He would spend his entire playing career with the team. He also played internationally for Team Canada, with whom he won an Olympic gold medal. He was a 10x All-Star, Lester B. Pearson Award winner, Conn Smythe Trophy winner, Frank J. Selke Trophy winner, a 3x Stanley Cup champion (with one additional cup as an executive), a Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy winner, and a Lester Patrick Trophy winner among his many awards. He is 6th in the NHL all time in points, 9th in goals, and 7th in assists. He was the longest-serving captain for a team in league history (19 seasons, 1,303 games). His #19 has been retired by the Red Wings. He is a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame. He has served as general manager of the Tampa Bay Lightning and is currently back with the Red Wings as Executive Vice President and General Manager. He has also served as executive director for Team Canada for two Olympics.
"The Golden Jet" played left wing and joined the Chicago Black Hawks in 1957 at the age of 18. He would spend most of his career with the Blackhawks and also played for the Winnipeg Jets and Hartford Whalers in the upstart WHA. He played for Canada in international competition. A fast skater and prolific scorer, he was a 3x Art Ross Trophy winner, Stanley Cup champion, 2x Hart Memorial Trophy winner, Lady Byng Memorial Trophy winner, Lester Patrick Trophy winner, and a 2x NHL All-Star game MVP. He was also a 2x WHA Most Valuable Player and a 3x Avco Cup (WHA) champion. He is a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame and in 1998 was ranked number 8 on The Hockey News' list of the 100 Greatest Hockey Players of all time. His son is fellow Hall of Famer Brett Hull.
