IN A US SIZE 10, GEMSTONE MEASURES 8mm x 10mm,
TOP OF SETTING MEASURES 1/2" x 1/2", SHANK IS 5/16" WIDE,
TOTAL WEIGHT OF 7.3 GRAMS

Shows typical light wear from use and storage, including minor surface marks, scratches, and light smoothing of the crosshatch area due to long wear.  It has been gently hand polished and ultrasonic cleaned in a mild dish soap, and it has nice shine and is very clean.  It is straight and round, not bent out of shape, stones have nice color with no visible damage, has no personal monograms or engravings, with no major issues at all.


It is hallmarked on the inside A&Z 14K, mark for historic and listed USA fine jeweler, A. & Z. Chain Co. of Providence, Rhode Island.  They are well known for their various pendant and necklace designs.  The gemstone is also hallmarked on the back with a script letter L, mark for Linde, a line of synthetic sapphire gemstones made by Union Carbide.  


We did perform a stone and acid test and it confirms 14K gold and tested the stone with a Gemlogis Ciel tester registering 4 high red marks confirming a precious stone.  Band was measured with a professional ring mandrel at a US Size 10 and measured the stone with a gemstone gauge tool at 1.5 carats.

HISTORICAL FOOTNOTE:  The last photo shown was taken from a 1940s era Jewelry Trademark Catalog and completely documents this mark and maker.
