Antique 19C Tibetan DZI / Pumtek / Agate Bead Necklace - probably late 19c / very early 20C (the beads themselves are much older of course). Look close, you can see the age / wear (not modern).
We bought this and another antique Tibetan DZI necklace as an after thought add on at a specialist Asian antiques auction sale. We bought two genuine paintings and saw this and the other. Auctioneer said they came from a respected collector traveler's deceased estate sale. We can provide proof of purchase.
The beads themselves are genuine DZI as they pass the two authentic Pumtek tests; the pattern is not raised (painted on) and dos not scratch off (the pattern is more than surface decoration).
Genuine antique beads like these sell for over £100 each elsewhere. Here you get a complete 57 bead necklace. And look closely, wear / age and not the same blah blah two / three eyes modern beads masquerading as antique. See if you can find a single ad anywhere for the square beads in this necklace, or the style of the long and small round beads (or even any DZI round beads); that should tell you plenty. Bought at auction in a deceased traveller collector's sale; believed bought in the 1960's in Bhutan or North India. Proof of auction purchase available to buyer. Collector's dream!
