A Japanese crafted picture of a child with his toy , created using a traditional art called Oshi-e Kurumi.
The figure is made by wrapping fabrics around a foam thus creating a 3D figure. In this example the fabric is folded to create a figure and the figure has been set against a buff coloured paper background.
There is a small red figure drawn in red ink lower left which I assume is the signature of the artist.
Note there is a very tiny stain on the toy horse’s forehead.
Estimate dated mid 20th century.
In excellent condition. Presented in a black wood frame which is in generally good condition. The back paper has been opened up.
Glazed and ready to hang.
Measures 12x11” including the frame.
