This is the most popular and versatile Free Motion Quilting Foot on the market. It rides just above the fabric and allows you to "Freestyle" your quilting pattern.
The bottom of the foot is round and cupped so that your fabric will not snag the edges, because of the design it does not put any pressure on the material so you can move the fabric in any direction.
A mechanic can adjust your presser foot bar (if required) so that the foot sits at the correct height above the needle plate, however this is not always required.
The feed dog should also be lowered so that it does not interfere with your "Free Motion” fabric movement, alternatively you can just remove the feed dog which is easier.
