Beautiful antique Art Nouveau themed German Porcelain centerpiece bowl with colorful portrait medallion. The inside of the bowl displays beautiful iridescence and the handpainted portrait speaks of superb craftsmanship. The porcelain is in original and excellent condition. The only irregularity I can detect is a tiny surface chip within the gilding of the scalloped rim. It is only noticeable under close inspection and it does not affect the display. It is mentioned for accuracy only. A photo of the area has been posted for better understanding.
Dimensions of the bowl are 11.25“ diameter across top, 6.5“ base and 2.5“ rim at highest point. The portrait medallion measures 5.25“ in diameter. The hand painted gold frame is still shiny and there is no loss of gilding.
Signed at the base with an early E. S. Prov Saxe hallmark stamp. Weight 1 lbs 12 oz.
