An ode to individuality, this book groups together people that were seen as remarkable, from William Aldridge, an aged wheelwright, to James Whitney, an extraordinary highwayman; from Aesop of Eton, a rhyming Cobler, to John Valerius, born without arms;

James Caulfield spent much of his career as a printmaker publishing illustrated books about remarkable people, and began his first series in about 1788.

Illustrated with portrait per biography. Collated, complete with one hundred and fifty four plates.
