Antique 1860s Mourning Pin Brooch Enamel Engraved Civil War Man W/ Beard RARE.

Large oval mourning pin, opens up for photo and keepsakes to go inside.

Looking at the photo, the beard dates this gentleman to the 1860s. His name according to the engraving on the back is EC CARL.

Look. At. That. Beard.

No sideburns. No mustache. A very distinctive look.

The frame itself is a thin black and gold enamel. There are spots of wear- see the photos for more detail. At 160(ish) years old I think that’s fair. And really only adds to the charm.

On the inside the metal is worn, there was nothing inside except paper behind the photo as shown in the photos. I haven’t taken anything out or put anything in.

The back is a standard pin back, the engraving is very light and is right under the pin. I can send a video where you may be able to see it if any buyers are interested.

Please make an offer on this unique item. These larger pins are hard to find and this gentleman deserves a good home.
