VTG MARSHALL FIELD’S CHICAGO WOODEN PARCEL HANDLE VICTORIAN ADVERTISING PROMOTION GIVEAWAY

This RARE wooden Parcel Handle from America’s Victorian era is highly collectible because Marshall Field’s is one of the most famous department stores in U.S. retail history. This piece is in great antique condition with fully readable lettering and smooth clean aged wood. There is some wear on the wooden ends but it gives the piece character and patina. No cracks. One metal end is bent a different way than the other but the package handle works fine—although this cool piece would be most attractive framed in a glass shadow and hung in a foyer or bedroom. The Marshall Field and Co. building now houses Macy's State Street in Chicago. It was built in two stages—north end in 1901–02 (including columned entrance) and south end in 1905–06. The flagship location of Marshall Field and Co. and Marshall Field's department stores has been the main Midwest location of Macy's stores since 2006. The building is in Chicago’s "Loop" and takes up a whole city block.
