Up for sale is this unique wool poncho designed and handwoven by Beatrice C. Bannerman (1916-2002), a known weaver in West Virginia. In her obituary, it was stated: "She attended Marshall College in Huntington, W.Va. Mrs. Bannerman was a noted handweaver, spinner and vegetable dyer, studied and taught in the U.S., New Zealand, Iceland and Europe, and placed exhibits at the Mountain State Arts and Crafts Fair from 1963 until 1999. She was a founding member of the West Virginia Artists and Craftsman Guild; life member of the Southern and Craft Guild; and member of Kanawha Valley Weavers and Spinner Guild."
