Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate is a gentle anionic surfactant, or a fatty acid derived from coconut oil. it is fully biodegradable and is cruelty free. It is used in cosmetics and personal care products as a surfactant and is commonly seen in hair care products like shampoos because of its ability to help water to mix with oil and dirt, allowing them to be more easily rinsed and leaves your skin feeling soft and silky. Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate is also one of of the key ingredients in Foaming Bath Butter.

SCI is often referred to as Baby Foam because it is an extremely gentle surfactant that is mild enough for baby cleansers, personal hygiene and toiletries while still offering very efficient cleansing and low odor. It’s also naturally acidic, so it helps our end products have a skin-friendly pH with less (or no) adjusting.

Use in popular cleansing Cosmetics, liquid soaps, shampoos and Soap Making. Gentle Surfactant commonly used in acne treatments, anti aging lotions, baby shampoo, bar soap, bath oils, exfoliant scrubs, shaving cream, shower gels , and facial cleaners.

SCI is only slightly miscible in water. It is best used in conjunction with other surfactants in a formulation, or you can easily blend it in with just about any non- water product you are using like polysorbate 20 or 80, or glycerin for example. As you are blending it in to a solution you will may need some gentle consistent heat (128 to 140 F ) depending on your formulation(s).The extra steps are really worth it for the excellent results.
