  • Beschreibung: Wunderbar lockere, einfühlsame Skizze eines Malers bei der Arbeit an einem Wegkreuz. Der Künstler in Malkittel und mit Pinsel und Palette hat dem Betrachter den Rücken zugewandt und setzt konzentriert seine Striche. Der sitzende Geselle hält dabei das Kreuz schräg über den Knie und beobachtet den Meister bei der Arbeit. Ob ihres Sujets ist die Arbeit in den süddeutschen Raum zu verorten.

  • Zustand: Sehr guter Zustand. Die Zeichnung macht einen schönen Eindruck, das Papier ist in gutem Zustand, schwach gebräunt, schwach fleckig und schwach beschmutzt, jew. Knickfalz horizontal im unteren Drittel und vertikal mittig, mittig im Unteren drittel vertikaler professionell reparierter Riss, etwas wellig, Ränder unregelmäßig beschnitten.

  • Date: 19th century

  • Description: Wonderfully relaxed, sensitive sketch of a painter at work on a wayside cross. The artist, wearing a painting smock and holding a brush and palette, has his back turned to the viewer and is concentrating on his strokes. The seated journeyman holds the cross diagonally across his knees and observes the master at work. Due to its subject matter, the work can be located in southern Germany.

  • Condition: Very good condition. The drawing makes a nice impression, the paper is in good condition, slightly browned, slightly stained and slightly soiled, each with a crease horizontally in the lower third and vertically in the centre, a professionally repaired tear in the centre of the lower third, somewhat wavy, margins irregularly trimmed.
