  • Beschreibung: Die verschiedenen Knochenteile sind mit einer Nummerierung versehen, links unten in der Druckplatte signiert und datiert. "Gravé par Lavalée daprés le Dessin original de M. Gamelin an 1778". Jacques GAMELIN war ein französischer Maler, Zeichner, Kupferstecher und Radierer des Frühklassizismus. Gamelin studierte zuerst an der Königlichen Akademie der Künste in Toulouse unter Jean-Pierre Rivalz. Weitere Stationen seiner künstlerischen Ausbildung waren Paris und Rom, wo er ab 1771 als Professor an der Accademia di San Luca tätig war. Ein Jahr später ernannte ihn Papst Clemens XIV. zum Hofmaler. In Rom lernte Gamelin auch den Maler Anton Raphael Mengs kennen. Das Blatt entstand im Zusammenhang mit dem anatomischen Tafelwerk 'Nouveau recueil d'ostéologie et de myologie'

  • Description: The various bone parts are numbered, signed and dated in the lower left of the printing plate. "Gravé par Lavalée daprés le Dessin original de M. Gamelin an 1778". Jacques GAMELIN was a French painter, draughtsman, engraver and etcher of early classicism. Gamelin first studied at the Royal Academy of Arts in Toulouse under Jean-Pierre Rivalz. His artistic training continued in Paris and Rome, where he worked as a professor at the Accademia di San Luca from 1771. One year later, Pope Clement XIV appointed him court painter. Gamelin also met the painter Anton Raphael Mengs in Rome. The sheet was created in connection with the anatomical plate work 'Nouveau recueil d'ostéologie et de myologie'
