Illustrated with a frontispiece, engraved title page, seven plates, and in-text engravings. 

Collated, complete.

A charming collection of short stories by Hans Christian Andersen, containing twenty-one tales in total, including many of his enduringly popular and influential tales.

Including 'The Ugly Duck', 'The Little Mermaid', 'The Princess and the Peas', 'The Wild Swans', and more.

Andersen wrote a total of 156 stories, many of which have found their way into the Western cultural zeitgeist. 

Translated into English by Charles Boner.

Illustrated by Count Franz Graf von Pocci.


CONDITION

In the original publisher's paper covered boards. Externally, worn, lacking the backstrip. Boards are a little age-toned and rubbed. Light bumping to the extremities. Some spots to the boards. Bookseller's label to the rear paste down. Front hinge is starting but firm. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with only the occasional spot. Prior owner's ink inscription to the reverse of the frontispiece.
