Platinum Silicone 121 shure 10, is an extremely strong, high performance platinum cured liquid silicone moulding compound that can be used for many applications including special effects for movie work, skin effects, mould production, 'O' rings and seals in construction, medical work etc. Platinum Silicone 121 has incredible specifications and is just one moulding rubber type of many in the series of 121 ratio. Other Platinum Silicones in the same series include Shure 10, Shure 25, Shure 35 and Shure 65. All have the same or similar specifications (apart from the Shure hardness) and all have different applications. This Platinum Silicone 121 Shure 10 translucent liquid silicone is ideal for most mold making applications and can be mixed with mica powders to created different colours. They are made both non-toxic and no odor and are are extremely flexible, soft and clear. You could also mix mold making silicone rubber with mica powder to create new colors.
Built to withstand a variety of temperature conditions, Platinum Silicone 121 Shure 10 can withstand minus 50 deg C to plus 250 deg C (minus 58 deg F to 482 deg F). Available in Shore 10A, 15A, 20A and 30A, Platinum Silicone 121 can be used to make exceptionally strong and extremely resistant to tearing in molds. Use it to make moulds for casting wax or soap, for casting plaster, for casting resins or other similar materials and can even be used for casting concrete. So easy to mix and pour! Simply mix part A and part B in a mix ratio is 1:1 by weight or volume. Pour the Part A and Part B together, then stir the mixed product for about 5 minutes, making sure to stir that the silicone is mixed thoroughly. The working time is is about 20 minutes at room temperature.
The bubbles generated in the mixing process will disappear within a few hours and as such, vacuum degassing should not be needed. Full cure should be about 5 hours at room temperature but it varies a large amount depending on your mould thickness and volume poured.
Platinum Silicone 121 - 10 contains an anti-fungal making it suitable for manufacturing a range of skin-safe and cushioning products which are fine for orthotic products. If you're a 'newby' to mould making? Then this is an easy choice in silicones as you will get great results and is about the easiest product to use and requires no new skills or special equipment to purchase! You can create wonderful new moulds and it is serious fun in using this product. .Platinum Silicone 121 - 10 are Flame Rated to UL-94 HB specification and they meet the B1 classification for the GB 8624-2012 Fire Test to Building Material and Products (does not include ‘NV’ formulas). Time Tested, Versatile Special Effects Material, Platinum Silicone 121 - 10 will be being used around the world to create special effects with endless colours through various pigment colours. The cured silicone is skin safe and can be thinned using Silicone Thinner. CLEANING UP: If there's any spills or cleanup needed? Then simply use soapy water or alcohol such as IPA
