Presented here are Minty Antique 1/10 Silver & 12K White Gold Filled AO Oxford Pince-Nez Eyeglasses 

Pince-Nez spectacles famously have no arms, simply clipping onto the nose of the person wearing them. Aptly named for the French terms pincer, “to pinch”, and nez, “the nose”, their functional yet intriguing design make them highly desired for both vintage collectors and modern fashion aficionados, especially after Morpheus of the Matrix brought them into modern culture. 

Oxfords were, in a way, the “last hurrah” of round vintage glasses without temples which had existed during many preceding generations. Given the striking beauty of these antique eyeglasses, this type remains immensely popular to this day among collectors and those who like to sport vintage fashions.

The Oxford pince-nez listed here features a 1/10 Silver filled frame with a 1/10 White Gold Filled flexible bridge that brings the ‘pinch’ effect to the nose pads. Filling is preferred over plating for its higher precious metal content and lasting beauty. Both lens frame and the bridge are beautifully engraved for that Art Deco look. The nose pads have a serrated design to prevent slipping. The lenses are for reading but these will need to be replaced to match your prescription if you intend to wear these.

These Oxford Pince-Nez from the early 20^th century are in near mint condition. They probably just sat in a collection for decades. The silver filled parts have some oxidation while the white gold filled bridge is shiny. No loss of filling on either the silver or white gold parts. No scuffs, dents or bends.  Nose pads show some age related discoloration but are undamaged.  Lenses barely have any scratches and are usable even today for reading. The shape is well maintained. 

Bring some old school cool to your wardrobe with new prescription lenses or make an admirable addition to your vintage eyewear collection. It is not common to find eyeglasses this old in this condition especially from a renowned maker.
