A detailed copy of a typical English Oak Coffer or Chest. The front is divided into two panels, each with a carved shield. There are initials on one and 1986 on the other. Was this when it was built? Were these the initials of the craftsman?

The front surfaces of the legs, top rail, bottom rail and muntin are decoratively carved. It has legs in the fashion of very old chests, they were designed this way to withstand the wear and damp of old stone floors, with scattered rushes.

The panels and top are fashioned from delightfully thin cut and worked  fine oak. The legs and rails are proportionally thicker in section. All finished with a fine polish.

Sizes approx, 160mm wide,x 75mm deep, x 120mm tall. Inside is 90mm deep. There is a knot hole in the back. The chest is jointed, as is visible in the photos.
