VERY NICE, RARE STAR SCRIMSHAW CARVED  REVOLUTIONARY WAR MUSKET PRIMING/PISTOL POWDER HORN

DESCRIPTION: A particularly nice, rare & unusual Revolutionary War SCRIMSHAWED POWDER HORN from my collection, used by individual riflemen for priming powder with their flintlock muskets or by officers with their pistols.

This one is particularly nice since it has 2 stars very nicely carved in it, as shown.

THERE IS 1 STAR AT EACH END, ABOUT THE SAME SIZE AND MATCHING.  Any kind of scrimshaw work on any early powder horn is scarce and very desirable.

Pouring end is nicely carved and quite unusual, as shown, and very unusual in that the pouring hole is very big, about 3/4 " diameter. Plug end is carved wood, held in by tiny hand made nails.   Also, as a very early, if not original thin cord.

This has all the attributes, design, style, patina, size, and look of a Revolutionary War period horn. Has really nice color and horn characteristics. Has a great look to it, nice size and look, for addition to a collection or to hang with a musket over a fireplace.   ALWAYS NICE TO FIND A HORN WITH SCRIMSAW!

Nice condition, and no damage, holes, or weaknesses.
