He then began his journey towards goal, with Daniel van Buyten marking him tightly. Despite the close attention, Milito slowly worked his way towards the penalty area, looking for an opening.

With the ball at his feet, Milito showcased his incredible skill and agility, shaking off van Buyten with a quick move before making his way into the box. The Bayern defense was in disarray as Milito cut back to his left, leaving van Buyten in his wake and finding himself one-on-one with goalkeeper Jörg Bütt. There was no stopping the determined striker, who calmly slotted the ball into the far corner of the net to make it 2-0 to Inter.

Milito’s goal was a testament to his incredible talent and composure under pressure. He single-handedly broke down the Bayern defense with a moment of sheer brilliance. The goal was also his 30th of the season across all competitions, making him one of the most lethal strikers in Europe at the time.

The Santiago Bernabeu erupted in celebration as Milito’s goal effectively sealed the victory for Inter… who went on to lift the Champions League trophy for the first time in 45 years.
