DigiLive 16 Studiomaster - 16 Input 8 Output Digital Mixer

16 Input plus 4 digital input mixing console with a unique touch screen control interface allowing off line mixing as well as comprehensive control using an app via phone or tablet.
With automated faders!

The Digilive from Studiomaster is essentially a mixer in the same mould as the Allen & Heath QU series and Behringer X32, but at around half the price and with a smaller footprint. However it still offers 16 inputs and 8 outputs, plus effects, compression, gating and sophisticated EQ, so you lose very little but your wallet thanks you!

However there are advantages of the Digilive 16 over, say a QU16, in the area of remote control! With the QU series, you need to use an external router to get control via ipad or android device, but with the Studiomaster, it has its own wireless hotspot and app, which allows ipad or andriod devices to connect. The Digilive can't be controlled by an iphone though, but any ipad or android device can use the free Digilive Black Box application.

The desk is relatively easy to understand and control and the flying faders that whizz up and down when selecting the various input page and output page look very cool and "pro".

Sound quality is very good, mainly because the design of the Digilive 16 was undertaken by Cadac, who are the leader in theatre mixing consoles. In fact around 70% of the sound consoles in the West End are Cadac!

The separate outputs can be configured in several ways, one of which is to allow a time aligned system as each output pair can have a delay assigned to it.

There's also a built in USB player, and this isn't a free option, just thrown in! Instead it's a fully functional player with artist and title display.
