Jahrhundert erbauten Maison des Sires de Domecy mit dem außen liegenden Treppentürmchen und rechts den beiden spätromanischen Portalen von Saint-Lazare aus dem frühen 12. Jahrhundert. Das Blatt entstand auf einer Reise, die den englischen Architekten, Kartographen, archäologischen Schriftsteller, Kunstsammler, Numismatiker und literarischen Übersetzer William Barnard Clarke zwischen 1838 und 1839 nach Frankreich und später im Jahr 1839 weiter nach Italien führte.

  • Description: View of the centre of the small town of Avallon with the Maison des Sires de Domecy built in the 15th century with the outside staircase tower and on the right the two late Romanesque portals of Saint-Lazare from the early 12th century. The print was created on a journey that took the English architect, cartographer, archaeological writer, art collector, numismatist and literary translator William Barnard Clarke to France between 1838 and 1839 and later on to Italy in 1839.
