Diesen modernen impressionistischen Ansatz der Pleinairmalerei lernte Burnitz während seiner Aufenthalte in Frankreich in der Schule Barbizons kennen. So tragen seine Arbeiten, die regionale Landschaften wie den Taunus wiedergeben, den innovativen Impetus der französischen Freilichtmalerei.

  • Description: Typical landscape sketches by the Frankfurt painter, which, instead of pathos and heroic staging, are characterised by an immediacy between the artist and nature. Burnitz learnt about this modern impressionist approach to plein-air painting during his stays in France at Barbizon's school. His works, which depict regional landscapes such as the Taunus, bear the innovative impetus of French plein air painting.

  • Condition: Rather good condition. Significant water stain in the lower right corner of the sheet. Tear at the top centre, fixed with adhesive tape on the reverse. The corners are bumped. Short tears in the right margin. The paper slightly discoloured due to its age
