  • Beschreibung: Wohl Abdruck aus dem 19. Jahrhundert. Siehe Nagler, Monogrammisten, Nr. 1395: Die Darstellung zeigt einen Abdruck eines aus St. Ulrich in Augsburg stammenden Epitaphbildnisses für die im frühen 16. Jahrhundert verstorbenen, Afra Adelgaisin und ihr Ehemann Ulrich Schmid, sowie Appollonia Schmidin, die Ehefrau Jörg Haimhofers und Hans Schmid, die in der unbeschnittenen Platte unterhalb der Kreuzigungsszene kniend dargestellt sind. Das vorliegenden Blatt ist wohl ein Abdruck des frühen 19. Jahrhunderts der beschnittenen Platte ohne die Stifter, allerdings mit dem seitenrichtigen Monogramm. Dargestellt sind neben dem gekreuzigten Christus die Mutter Gottes links und Johannes der Täufer rechts, sowie die Schutzpatrone Augsburgs, die Heilige Afra mit an den Baum gefesselten Händen im Feuer stehend links neben Maria und der Heilige Ulrich im Bischofsornat mit Buch und Fisch rechts neben Johannes.

  • Description: Probably a print from the 19th century. See Nagler, Monogrammisten, no. 1395: The image shows a print of an epitaph portrait from St. Ulrich in Augsburg for the early 16th century deceased, Afra Adelgaisin and her husband Ulrich Schmid, as well as Appollonia Schmidin, the wife of Jörg Haimhofer and Hans Schmid, who are shown kneeling below the crucifixion scene in the uncut plate. The present sheet is probably an early 19th century impression of the trimmed plate without the donors, but with the monogram on the correct side. Next to the crucified Christ, the Mother of God is depicted on the left and John the Baptist on the right, as well as the patron saints of Augsburg, Saint Afra with her hands tied to the tree standing in the fire to the left of Mary and Saint Ulrich in bishop's regalia with book and fish to the right of John.
