Biographie:

Max Idlas (1932-2019).

Potier français né à Marseille en 1932.

Idlas ouvre son premier atelier de poterie à Montmartre, Paris en 1954. En 1964, il installe en Bretagne, dans une ancienne usine de charbon de bois, son atelier de céramique et de peinture.

Durant 55 ans, Max Idlas accueille les amateurs de ces œuvres, curieux du coin comme fans venant d’Angleterre, happés par ses rouge, jaune, bleu, noir profonds.

Les connaisseurs comparent souvent ses émaux à ceux des frères Cloutier ou Georges Jouve.

Les collectionneurs et galeristes montrent de plus en plus d’ intérêt pour son travail et sa côte monte progressivement.

Max Idlas (1932-2019).

French potter born in Marseilles in 1932.

Idlas opened his first pottery workshop in Montmartre, Paris in 1954. In 1964, he set up in Brittany, in a former charcoal factory, his ceramics and painting workshop.

For 55 years, Max Idlas has welcomed lovers of these works, curious from the area as well as fans from England, caught up in his deep reds, yellows, blues and blacks.

Connoisseurs often compare his enamels to those of the Cloutier brothers or Georges Jouve.

Collectors and gallery owners are showing more and more interest in his work and his price is gradually rising.
