Vintage Handmade BowTie Pattern Quilt 1899 Midwest USA

Colors: Cream/Off White and Blues

Provenance : This quilt was handmade by my great grandmother and her 2 sisters on their midwestern farm 124 years ago.

I am not a quilt expert. I do not think they used a machine. I’m certain a quilt expert can take a closer look and determine.

It has been stored for years in a cedar chest. It was stored folded but refolded frequently.

I do not see any rips, tears or stains. I did notice when inspecting, it has, some fading. (See photo)

It is in remarkable condition considering its age.

I’m hoping to “re home” this exceptional work of art, to a person that appreciates the craft and will treasure it for years to come.
