Der sitzende Reiter führt das Pferd mit dem Zügel; er hat ein
Schwert an seiner Seite befestigt, des Reiters rote Jacke ist
mit goldenem Knopfsaum und Epauletten verziert. -
Das springende Pferd bezeichnet eine Figur, die folgendermaßen
genannt wird: "Levade" / bei dieser Figur hat das
Pferd in einem Winkel von weniger als 45 Grad zu springen, dabei
die Vorderbeine anziehend.

The rider conducts the jumping white Lipizzan by the
reins. The jumping horse depicts a figurine
which is called "Levade" : The so-said
Levade (in French: se lever = to rise)
is an exercise of Classical School of Riding where
the horse has to jump in very special manner: The
horse has to rear up, raising its body at an angle
of less than 45 degrees, drawing its forefeet
towards its body.
