DESCRIPTION

A first edition copy of Narratives of the Days of the Reformation chiefly from the Manuscripts of John Foxe the Martyrologist, with two contemporary biographies of Archbishop Cranmer. 

John Foxe was an English historian and martyrologist who was the author of Foxe's Book of Martyrs, which told of Christian martyrs throughout Western history. 

This work is edited by John Gough Nichols and explores a fascinating period of history.


CONDITION

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, very smart with some light bumping to the extremities and head and tail of the spine. Previous owner pencil inscription to the front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages.
