DESCRIPTION

First edition.

Illustrated with seventy-four coloured plates. Collated complete.

A study on the history of British grasses, with reference to individual plant types and species.

Written by Edward Joseph Lowe, an English botanist, meteorologist, and astronomer, renowned for his contributions to the natural sciences.


CONDITION

Rebacked in full brown cloth with a contemporary spine. Externally, smart with light shelf wear and minor rubbing to the extremities. The odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with light scattered spotting, predominantly to the first and last few pages. Contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper dated 1884.
