These 18" front brake hoses are designed for front disc brake conversions using stock-style 1969-1988 GM single-piston calipers that are tapped and utilize the 10mm-1.5 inlet thread.

Hose quality is excellent, but size is not as described
Summary: The hoses are of excellent quality, but not what the catalog describes. They are 18" long (should be 15"), have square "block" caliper ends (should be "round"), have a hole for 7/16" (.437) caliper bolt (should be 10mm (.394)). Note: There is a different part number for the 7/16" x 18" long hose. I spoke with a Speedway rep, he informed me that since inventory was 600 sets, a decision was made the inventory would have to be sold down before the correct 10mm x 15" hoses would be available. In some instances the 18" long hoses would be an acceptable interchange (they are longer, not shorter, and the caliper bolt hole is slightly larger, not smaller). In my situation, however, the longer length would pose a problem when turning, and I also wanted the cosmetic appearance of the "round" end. Refer to the description of part numbers 617-8568 and 617-8569 for the differences as described. Speedway very generously offered a free upgrade to braided stainless hoses, but, again, I wanted the "old-school" rubber hose appearance.

Summary: I wanted a rectangular banjo end as 'stock' picture depicted but got round ends. Speedway cheerfully accepted my return after discussing. Went looking elsewhere and found a Dorman product H36952 that worked for me from 85 GMC Van, thereabouts. I had to carefully remove the support bracket bent around the hose since these are model specific hoses . This can be done easily with vice grips but you need to be careful and patient.
