The area of Brooklyn that I'm located in, has a lot of African and Afro-Caribbean cultures, including the small tailoring & clothing boutiques. I believe this piece (and many others that I find while thrifting/fashion hunting) comes from one of these shops, possibly abandoned by a customer who never came to pick up their bespoke piece... well, I just love the beautiful designs of these African wax (style) print fabrics. These pants are no exception. They are cool in style and in practicality. Made from a medium weight cotton weave fabric, they feature a vivid geometric design in black , white, and turquoise (I believe the basket-like discs are of a specific cultural significance). They feature wide-cut legs, an elasticized waistband, hidden side hip pockets, and self-fabric sash ties. No lining or labels, or maker's marks. Overall condition is NEW, never worn (but washed and pressed, of course) with a couple anomalies to the print -please review photographs for full details.
