Antique Tiffany Studios Bronze Dore Match Box/Ashtray in the Indian Smiling Frog Design. In excellent vintage condition with a beautiful patina, an excellent example of the work from the artisans of Tiffany Studios which was headed by the famous designer LC Tiffany. This is one of many styles of bronze matchbox holders produced by Tiffany at the start of the 20th century, around 1910. This particular holder is somewhat unique incorporating a Indigenous element into the design. This holder is marked underside as usual but the impression is a bit shallow but Tiffany Studios is clearly visible together with the model #1194 and the date "1912" written in black. Bright with some original gilding, a great example of Tiffany Studios work.
