This beauty was made using the RCA 44BX's true measurements, and features identical RCA styling cues, all American-made, meticulously hand-crafted on a very limited basis using a combination of materials...(no 3D printing.)
- Mic body is formed weighted resin with internal steel supports for yoke and screens
- Perforated screens are hand-formed polished aluminum and lined with white cotton fabric accurate with RCA standards
- Yoke is cast resin reinforced with 1/8 inch internal steel rods
- Side knurled thumb-nuts are chrome-plated steel
- Includes matching "RCA Style" reproduced resin-formed and weighted desk stand
- RCA meatball logo is CNC produced from aluminum stock
- Mic body support bolts to the yoke are 1/4" x 20 tpi steel
- Overall weight is just under 5 lbs, measuring 14" tall, base is 6" x 4" (same 1:1 specs of an RCA 44)
- If you need to mount this mic on a regular mic stand/floor stand/overhead boom, simply remove the 3/8" bolt at the base of the stand and screw on the 3/8" male to 5/8" female thread adapter.
- Inside, a studio-quality ribbon drive (figure-8 polar pattern with 1.8-micron, 2" long aluminum ribbon with powerful neodymium magnets) and 1:36 transformer. Has rich/strong output/bi-direction "figure 8" pattern...an audio profile you'd expect from any fine ribbon mic, hardwired to a short cable with 3 pin male XLR plug.
