Since its creation in 1992, the Music Industry Trusts Award has become one of the industry’s most cherished fundraising events.
Each year, a committee of esteemed experts draw on their diverse experience to choose an outstanding individual to honour with the award, in recognition of their contribution to the UK’s musical and cultural landscape.
The award-presentation ceremony is held at The Grosvenor House Hotel on London’s Park Lane every November. This special, inspirational evening brings together hundreds of guests from across the industry to celebrate the recipient’s achievements among their peers, all while raising vital funds for music charities Nordoff & Robbins and The BRIT Trust.
Simon Cowell, record company executive, television and film producer and global TV icon, was presented with the 24th MITS Award by One Direction, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the music and entertainment industry as well as many charitable causes.
The evening was hosted by Jo Whiley and guests were treated to live performances from Il Divo, Labrinth, Leona Lewis and Olly Murs. Oprah Winfrey, Richard Curtis, James Corden, Kevin Spacey, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Little Mix and Ella Henderson were amongst those that paid tribute to Simon.
To mark the occasion, a limited number of promotional only Cd and Book Sets are produced featuring artists that the recipient of the award has either been inspired by and/or has produced as a music producer etc.
The promo Cd Set features two Cd's, one with 17 tracks and the other with 13 tracks.
They feature top global artists like George Michael, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, Mariah Carey, One Direction, Little Mix, Leona Lewis, James Arthur, Will Young, Olly Murs, Alexander Burke, Susan Boyle, and many more.
Previous sets have had a limited release of just 500, so this set is extremely rare.
