This is a silver plated tureen that was given as an award for Best in Show in Fort Lauderdale to Eleanor Ritchey in 1953. I was told she was the Quaker State sole Heiress and my research of this woman appears to support that. She never married and had no children. In her lifetime she took in many homeless dogs. After she passed, she left millions of dollars to her dogs for their care. There is much written about this woman and her will. Very interesting.

I did not polish this. It came in a tarnish resistant bag which I will include. The tureen was made by Sheridan. It is silver on copper. It has some swirls from polishing but I don't see copper. Is approximately 11" by 11" from outsides of handles and top of finial.
