Arnott was a center and was the7th overall pick in the 1993 NHL Draft selected by the Edmonton Oilers with whom he played for several seasons. He also played for the New Jersey Devils, Dallas Stars, Nashville Predators, Washington Capitals, and St. Louis Blues during his nearly 20-year NHL career, playing in over 1000 games. He also played internationally for Team Canada. He was a member of the NHL All-Rookie Team in 1994, was a 2x NHL All-Star, and a Stanley Cup champion with the New Jersey Devils in 2000 (scoring the championship-winning goal in the second overtime of Game 6).
