Gunta Hand Drum Clay Goat Skin Head Stephen Wright 11.5"

Item for sale is a Gunta hand drum by Stephen Wright. Made by hand in Hagerstown, Maryland. 11.5 inch diameter and about 5" in depth. Measures 13.5" from tip of outlet to other side of drum. WEight is 5 lbs 7 oz. Clay ceramic base with goat skin head. Includes a hole for mic pick-up. Amazing variety of sounds. In good condition and playable. One of the strap anchors on the side of the drum has broken off, but this does not affect the sound quality of the drum and remaining anchor still allows strap to be used. Signed on the inside by Wright and dated 2000. New retails for $200. Please see pictures for details.

The GUNTA DRUM, which can be described as a cross between a frame drum and the Doumbek, is shallow and solid bottomed, with a side sound hole, and has a fixed goat skin head. It also features a simple system which enables the application of an internal mic, along with a comfortable shoulder strap."
