  • Bezeichnung: Unterhalb der Darstellung ist das Blatt vom Künstler in der Druckplatte signiert und bezeichnet. Darunter befindet sich ein kurzer Monolog zur Darstellung: "-So- nun reich die Hand mir! Halt fest an meinem Gürtel -sacht- so recht." sowie einzelne Hinweise zu Verlag und Vertrieb des Druckes. Vgl.   • Beschreibung: Nach einer Vorlage von Johann Peter Krafft (1780 Hanau - um 1856 Wien). Ganzfigurige Darstellung eines wandernden Scholaren mit entsetztem Gesichtsausdruck vor einem Abgrund auf einem Felsen im Gebirge. Hinter ihm steht ein Gebirgsjäger mit Armbrust und erlegtem Wild und stützt den erschrockenen Wanderer, dessen Mütze in die Tiefe segelt.

  • Inscription: The sheet is signed and inscribed by the artist in the printing plate below the depiction. Below this is a short monologue on the depiction: "-So- nun reich die Hand mir! Hold tight to my belt -sacht- so recht." as well as individual references to the publisher and distribution of the print. Cf. Nagler 48.

  • Description: After a model by Johann Peter Krafft (1780 Hanau - c. 1856 Vienna). Full-length depiction of a wandering Scholar with a horrified expression on his face in front of a precipice on a rock in the mountains. Behind him stands a mountain hunter with a crossbow and hunted game, supporting the terrified hiker, whose cap sails into the depths.

  • Condition: Rather good condition. Light foxing is visible on the entire sheet. The sheet edges are creased several times and torn in places.
