• Beschreibung: Wie vor Erschöpfung hat der im Hintergrund befindliche Engel das Haupt auf einen Tisch gestützt. Lässt sich in den Figuren im Vordergrund die Heilige Familie auf der Flucht nach Ägypten identifizieren, so ist in dem erschöpften Himmelswesen sicher der Schutzengel zu sehen, der die Reise der Familie mit dem Christuskind unter seinem Schutz begleiten soll.

• Description: As if from exhaustion, the angel in the background has propped his head on a table. If the Holy Family fleeing to Egypt can be identified in the figures in the foreground, the exhausted celestial being is surely the guardian angel who is to accompany the journey of the family with the Christ Child under his protection.
