  • Beschreibung: Mittig am unteren Rand der Darstellung betitelt und nummeriert: "N.92. Napoli. La gran Scala di marmo nel Palazzo Reale". Der prächtige Königspalast befindet sich an der Piazza Plebiscito in Neapel. In seinen prunkvollen Sälen befinden sich neben einer großen neapolitanischen Krippe auch eine Uhrensammlung, Skulpturen und Porzellan. Original-Fotografie mit hoher Detailschärfe. Ein frühes Zeugnis der Reisefotografie. Um die Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts reisten immer mehr Touristen aus bürgerlichen Kreisen nach Italien. Fotografien konnten damals nur mit hohem zeitlichem Aufwand und einer teuren, unhandlichen Apparatur entstehen. Umso dankbarer griffen viele Touristen auf die Arbeiten der professionellen Fotografenateliers vor Ort zurück, um den Zuhausegebliebenen ein Souvenir aus der Ferne mitzubringen oder sie als Erinnerungsstücke zu sammeln. Berühmt gewordene Fotografen wie Carlo Naya, Giorgio Sommer oder die Gebrüder Alinari lichteten die bekanntesten Sehenswürdigkeiten ihrer Heimatstädte ab und begaben sich selbst auf Reisen, um die beliebtesten Ziele ihrer Kunden zu fotografieren und als Albuminabzug anzubieten. Auch antike Kunstschätze wurden fotografisch aufgenommen und den Reisenden angeboten. Die hochwertigen Fotografien der Skulpturen und Fresken leisteten weiterhin einen wichtigen Beitrag zur Dokumentation der Kunstschätze und der Zugänglichkeit für Wissenschaftler aus ganz Europa, die zuvor auf Nachzeichnungen oder Stiche angewiesen waren, wenn sie nicht das Original selbst betrachten konnten.

  • Description: Titled and numbered in the centre at the lower margin of the image: "N.92. Napoli. La gran Scala di marmo nel Palazzo Reale". The magnificent royal palace is located on the Piazza Plebiscito in Naples. Its magnificent halls contain a large Neapolitan cot as well as a collection of clocks, sculptures and porcelain.
