One pair of late Victorian wedding stockings w/some history. A romantic, nostalgic item!
History: "My mother's hand knit wedding hose Jan-21-1892" & "My mothers wedding hose 1-21-1892- she knit them herself". Bride's name unavailable. From the Henry County, northwest Illinois area.
Sturdy white cotton w/elaborate tops - lacy pattern at the tops. The rest of the stockings are a plain, flat knit.
Size - heel to toe 9-1/2", heel to top 19".
Condition - probably worn once & then carefully stored away for over 130 years. There are a few tiny, scattered spots on the soles & heels (probably from her shoes) - otherwise very good.
