Offered here is a vintage sci-fi novel by the award winning American science fiction writer Poul Anderson (1926-2001).

 

This novel from the 1960s  - Satan’s World revolves around a planet that is falling out of interstellar space into the heat of a Blue Giant Star. It will thaw out, then fly back into the depths of space to freeze again. The  transmutation processes create great amounts of waste heat, and this planet will become the perfect industrial planet if developed before it heads back into the deep freeze. David Falkayn and his alien teammates Chee Lan and Adzel and others also want this world, and another alien race is discovered that is a threat to the Polesotechnic League

This 204 page, 8 12/ by 5 ½ inch Book Club Edition hardcover in fairly good condition. The pages are clear and the binding is solid. The black cloth cover with white spine title has just a bit of wear along the edges and a small dent along the top side of the front cover.. The dust jacket designed by Peter Bromley has just a bit of wear along the edges and one small closed tear along the bottom edge of the back panel of the jacket. There is a black and white photo of the author on the back panel.
