Many like it for sale here but unlike them you get a fully serviced and totally functional vintage binocular (Vin Bin) that ought to easily last your lifetime and beyond.

Cleaned internally of any and all film and spots we blackened sides of BK-7 prisms to make this single coated (magnesium fluoride) classic just a bit brighter with more contrast. It shows we were inside and not just selling the odd ultra clean example that are scarcer than hens teeth. After decades of existence original lubed tend to off gas and coat optical surfaces. Too, many old optics are infected with fungus that leave spots and tendrils. Not here!

While we were at it we gave them a lube job so that focus controls are no longer stiff from dried out grease. The deep black plastic eye cups were loosened after being age welded and easily screw off for the widest possible views. It is how we typically use all of our many, many vintage binoculars, especially the wide angle models!

This specimen is also in remarkably great shape cosmetically to include lenses that are near pristine with few, if any, cleaning marks, no less scratches.

Made prior to 1960 when the JB/JE #s began to be stamped on exported binos, usually on the front hinge yoke, it was made by Itabashi, JB-22. We know that because of the small symbol stamped on the front hinge cap as well as the Field Curvature (FC) to the nicely wide, now ultra sharp, views that this manufacturer was known for. We own at least a half dozen JB-22 models such as the iconic Bak-4 loaded Tasco Model 124 7x,50 Extra Wide: an eleven degree beauty with jaw dropping views!

We added a red carry strap cobbled from a woman's dress belt that is glued and taped on to the optic. The original case is in good shape for its age and still useful for storage and travel. It uses riveted on brite metal straps for the carry strap that the new owner can easily add.
