Vase in konischer Form, farbloses Glas mit gelben Farbpulvereinschmelzungen Überfänge in Flieder und Grün, in verschiedenen Stufen hochgeätzter Dekor mit Clematisblüten und -blättern, innenseitig und Hintergrund außen matt geätzt, Relief poliert.
Cameo Signatur 'Gallé' auf der Wandung zwischen den Blüten.

TECHNIK:   HANDGEFERTIGTES CAMEOGLAS
mit mehreren Schichten überfangenes Glas, bei dem im Hochschnitt Motive ausgearbeitet werden. Seit Mitte 19. Jh. erfolgte die gestaltende Formgebung auch durch Ätzung. Schon in der Antike wurden Gefäße aus Cameoglas hergestellt, Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts entwickelte Émile Gallé diese Glaskunst weiter, erschuf Jugendstil-Entwürfe und beschäftigte eine große Manufaktur in Nancy.

Vase in a conical shape, colorless glass with yellow colored powder inclusions, overlays in lilac and green, in various stages highly etched decoration with clematis blossoms and leaves, etched matt on the inside and background on the outside, polished relief.
Cameo signature 'Gallé' on the wall between the blossoms.

TECHNIQUE:   HANDMADE CAMEO GLASS
Glass overlaid with several layers, with high-cut worked out motifs. Since the middle of the 19th century, the design has also been done by etching. Cameo glass vessels were already being made in antiquity; at the end of the 19th century, Émile Gallé further developed this glass art, created Art Nouveau designs and employed a large factory in Nancy.
