• Beschreibung: Der Maler, Zeichner und Illustrator Friedrich Overbeck gilt als Protagonist der nazarenischen Kunst. Der Stecher des vorliegenden Blattes - Franz Keller - war von 1837 bis 1851 Schüler an der Düsseldorfer Akademie; dort Schüler bei seinem Bruder, dem Stecher Joseph von Keller; er fertigte sechs Blätter für das Evangelienwerk von Friedrich Overbeck. • Description: The painter, draughtsman and illustrator Friedrich Overbeck is considered a protagonist of Nazarene art. The engraver of the present sheet - Franz Keller - was a student at the Düsseldorf Academy from 1837 to 1851; there he was a pupil of his brother, the engraver Joseph von Keller; he produced six sheets for Friedrich Overbeck's work on the Gospels.
