The box appears to have originally been for a pocket watch, but it no longer has the display insert that would have come with it 100 years ago or so.  The rosewood veneer is largely intact, as is the brass inlay, but for one piece of inlay, as shown in one of the photos.  The hinges are still tight and in good working order.  The box will open without pushing the small knob on the front.  As the photos with my ruler show, the box measures 3 1/2” x 2 3/4” on the outside, and 2 3/4” x 2 1/4” on the inside.  If you have any questions or comments whatsoever, please let me know.  Many thanks and best regards, H.
