  • Beschreibung: Ein Mann sitzt in einem Garten. Auf seinem Schoß hält er ein Scharf und mit seinem Mund ein Messer. Vom linken Bildrand nähert sich ein König und reicht ihm eine Schafschere. Im rechten Mittelgrund beschneidet ein Gärtner einen Baum. Der Hintergrund gewährt Einblick in die Hofarchitektur. Der Vordergrund ist durch eine Art facettierte Steinverzierung geschmückt, die einen kreisrunden Einblick in die Szene gewährt. Am unteren Bildrand befindet sich die Künstler- und Radierer-Signaturen sowie ein Banner.

  • Zustand: Guter Zustand. Das Blatt zeigt altersgerechte Staub- und Schmutzspuren, ist fleckig, stellenweise knittrig und insbesondere am Rand bräunlich verfärbt. Am linken Blattrand wurde die Seite aus einem Buch geschnitten. Die Darstellung ist klar und kontrastreich abgebildet. Auf der Rückseite befinden sich Spuren zweier Klebeverbindungen am oberen Blattrand.

  • Description: A man is sitting in a garden. On his lap he holds a sharp and with his mouth a knife. From the left edge of the picture a king approaches and hands him a pair of sheep shears. In the right middle ground a gardener is pruning a tree. The background provides a view of the court architecture. The foreground is adorned by a kind of faceted stone decoration that provides a circular view of the scene. At the bottom of the picture is the artist's and etcher's signatures and a banner.

  • Condition: Good condition. The sheet shows age-related traces of dust and dirt, is stained, creased in places and brownish discoloured especially at the margin. The page has been cut out of a book at the left margin. The illustration is clear and rich in contrast. On the reverse side there are traces of two glued joints at the upper edge of the sheet.
