    Peter Schenk der Ältere war ein deutscher Kupferstecher und Kartograf aus Elberfeld, heute zu Wuppertal. Um 1684 zog er nach Amsterdam und wurde Schüler von Gerard Valck, spezialisiert in Schabkunst; Reisen nach Leipzig und Berlin.     Peter Schenk the Elder was a German engraver and cartographer from Elberfeld, now part of Wuppertal. Around 1684 he moved to Amsterdam and became a pupil of Gerard Valck, specialising in mezzotint; he travelled to Leipzig and Berlin. Until his death in 1718/19 he published numerous maps and pictures. Please also note our other works in the Peter Schenk series.

  • Condition: Rather good condition. The sheet is discoloured due to its age, creased in the lower margin; vertical crease in the centre. The impression of the print is very good.
