Yes this is that book! Super rare to begin with, it is 1 of only 2 CGC 9.8s! This is the Direct Error Edition with the unedited panel! Signed by cover artist Rob Liefeld!

Most people have heard of the legend, but for this books sake I will explain:

As the legend goes, when the book was first produced, an initial copy was sent to Tom Cruise. He apparently disliked how a certain panel made the character Ethan Hunt look. He felt his character appeared ‘too feminine’ in that particular panel on page 3.

Whether Tom Cruise himself caused the change or not, the Mission: Impossible #1 comic book did get redone, and page 3 was edited. Any comics that were getting printed and sent out all got recalled. Some Newsstands had already leaked out, so this is an unique case where the Direct Edition is actually significantly more rare than the Newsstand edition. According to many sites, they estimate the amount of Direct Edition Error Unedited copies to be in the wild at less than 100.

There are only 2 highest graded copies for this book at 9.8. This particular one is signed by Rob Liefeld himself making it a true one of a kind!
